What did we do before wireless...

As I remember, when we traveled around north africa 35 years ago, we thot we were right up to date if we got to read an old copy of Newsweek.  Now we panic if we can´t get the news out before the ink is dry (figuratively)...Well we had a really nice young lady arrive at our place today to check out our internet problems, but she only deals with ethernet and other wire and antenna type communications...Plus her spanish was rapid fire...But...she called a friend who translated for us, and now they are all coming back today at three (in 45 minutes)...to install a PCMiA card, i hope...so that when we leave this apartment, we will still be wireless and connected...

On the health front...we have had absolutely no problems, and I am cautiously drinking the water and lots of ice cubes.  Another myth to dispell, there are no flies that I have seen in Quito, or anywhere on the coast.  In two weeks here, I have seen ONE mosquito...so what the hey...

Got a really nice note from Tara at Evergreen today explaining that some banks will make our card work and some won´t...fortunately we found one that will.  It feels great to have those little stacks of cash roll out at you after you push all the little buttons.  Went to the Supermercado...and spent a bunch of dough...had lots of fun...

Rox is busy adding lots of touches to the place, and I bought two 16 ounce coffee cups as my contribution...

Been watching the sunrise for two mornings in a row...don´t even need slippers...weather is cool at night and about 76 in the day...must get a thermometer...

Also, I think I saw two albotrosses.  I have no idea what they look like, but we have some seagulls that would make edgar allan poe shiver...They have sharply angled wings and two long black split tails...anyway, these two birds that I saw were twice as large as they were, and were in formation about 60 feet apart and had at least a six foot wing span...flying straight ahead right out to sea...if any of you know what I saw...please send me the info...thanks mucho...gotto go...meet more chicas who are a lot smarter than mio...
