What;s not to love about a baby Iguana?

Rox says I talk way too much about animals in this blog, but what the hey, it's fun, and not political...

We were getting ready to mount up and take a ride today, when Rox told me to come around to her side, quietly.  So...I go around, and there in the grassy area next to the rear tire is the littlest Iguana I have ever seen!  His body was green with serrated black stripes and black striped tail, and his body was about 5 inches long, complimented by a 9 inch tail.  The poor little guy was so scared that he was frozen in place.  He matched the grass, and we guess that his mommy, or mommy nature, told him don't move when surrounded by big gringos...STA72503.JPGHe never did move, 'till we drove away...

When you see something as cute as this, it makes you want to just scoop the little critter up and take it home...but, of course, that is not good for the little critter.  So, I took a couple of pics, and I hope I can load soon.

In case you are not all boned up on Iguana culture, physiology, and habits, the mommy lays eggs in the ground, and the little buggers hatch like lizards or turtles, so maybe we will see a bunch more...
