Sunday Trout and Monday Trip

We have had a new member to our family for two more days now, and I have to say, she certainly is an easy addition.  Rox wants to name her Cocita...sort of like a female Coco, but i seem to have fallen into the habit of just caller her Coco, and she comes to both names...so time will tell where it shakes out...

Bob and Jan have said that they don't see any obvious problems with her (other than the potential for being spoiled rotten!!), and she continues to adapt to her new home just fine...Sunday she made the trip to the 11,000 foot mark and was pretty good as we ate in the trout restaurant...then she was just fine, mostly slept, as we made the eight hour trip downhill to the Coast.

So...the pictures that follow, will show several pictures of us at the trout farms, eating delicious food at the restaurant, pictures of Coco, and several of the trip to the Coast...

As we dropped through the 4000 foot level, we encountered a really dense and deep cloud bank.  It was so bad that we couldn't see the car in front of us, and we just felt our way downhill with everyone watching the side of the road to make sure that we sort of stayed in the middle...It was solid mud, with no kind of side markings...

And if that wasn't bad enough, we also encountered a slide, which resulted in just a track that we followed, made by a D-8 Cat...

So, take a look...

We spent a little time high above Cuenca getting the panoramic view...

Bob and Jan show us Ecuador through the eyes of professional ranchers, with animal expertise, so we get a new perspective...every minute...here's Jan taking a look at a horse tethered beside the road...she also picked some special grass for him to munch on...very nice...

Rox took this shot of us trying to put a mountain of stuff into an ever-shrinking car... A bunch of those new pillows took the fast way down...right off the balcony!!!

Here is Coco looking out...

Finally on the road...

We saw a lot of llamas, but they weren't close to the road...here is a pick of a bunch in the distance...

This young woman brightened our day with her smile...

We had eight sets of eyes watching every which way, as we inched our way thru the fog and mud...

A couple of shots with us and the new addition...makes us feel really goooooood!!!!

Arriving at the Coast, everything was just perfect...Agripina and Isidro greeted us with big smiles and hugs, and everything was manicured...The new fence was painted, the edging along the flower beds all had been freshly painted, and our entry gates looked like new!!!

Rox has asked Agripina to remove a casserole from the freezer the day before, and it just hit the spot for all of us after a long day on the road.

After a quick walk on the beach, some drinks on the deck, a fun and friendly dinner, everyone just drifted toward the bedrooms, and all was really quiet, way before 9:00 pm...In fact, at one point, Bob said "I can't go to bed at 7:00!!!"

We figure we will all be well rested for longer strolls on the beach today...and a bunch more fun....

Stay tuned...
