Beauty and the Beast

The title of this passage is a little whimsical, but it's a slow news day, and I wanted to put in a couple of pics that sort of don't have their own category...

It's Saturday, and we are experiencing one of our "transition" months, where Ecuador goes from winter (not really) to summer...we are having really nice days with more clouds in the afternoon to some days where it is a little overcast all day...

Today the sun has come out at about 3:00 pm, so we are going to hot foot it down to the Casa Blanca for good food and good viewing (people watching)...

Here is the "beauty" pic...

We are having the greatest time helping Coquita "grow up"...she is a typical puppy, and is teething and has the standard rocket to coma type of activities...she has grown 50% since we adopted her (that is an example of how to lie with statistics--she has  gone from 4 to 6 pounds!!!)

She has adapted readily to some training, and is amenable to "substitution" of various toys for our fingers when she wants to chew...

Here is a "beast" shot...

This dude was staring down five other iguanas on a hot afternoon...he is the big daddy, and they are all much more solid green and a little smaller...kind of the alpha male, I guess...

This next pic is him running after one the others, whom I suspect was not being sufficiently subservient...
