I guess our ticket to the ball got lost in the mail...

Well, after hound-dogging the mail for a bunch of days, we have concluded that we ain't goin' to the ball to celebrate Obama's inauguration...so, we have opted for the next best thing...watching it on DirectTV in a nice hotel in Salinas...

This is the same nice hotel, run by that nice Italian lady, which was the hotel of last resort that took us in to watch the election returns in November...

We talked to her today during our Wednesday trip to town, and reserved the same room, or maybe a suite this time, as we are planning to spend the morning, afternoon, and night there.

Since we plan to watch from morning to after the last dog is hung...we are already planning lots of special goodies, treats, munchies, drinks, and assorted nibbles to help us make sure that we don't miss a thing...

As we mentioned previously, our "people" were astounded when we gave them a color TV for Christmas, when we don't have one in the "main" house. The concept that we would opt out of television-land is a non-starter for them...

And...just to make sure that we felt really smart, we had a nice discussion with Coquita's Vet today, and arranged for her to be spayed during the same time. This way, if she is not ready to go home in the late afternoon, we can pick her up in the morning. Also, if she has even the most minor of complications, we are right there in town to get help, and not an hour's drive away.

Bob Barker would have a field day in Ecuador...as the Macho thing prevents just about all pets from being spayed or neutered...and it shows...

If anybody deserves a medal these days, it might be Bob Barker, who signed off of every "Price is Right" show, "Don't forget to get you pet spayed or neutered"...He got the US going in the right direction...
