We are helping Rox celebrate a really, really big One...
We have joined Richard and Nancy in the apartment in Cuenca in order to celebrate Rox's birthday just right!!! We are having a little get-together with new friends tonight, but Nancy helped get the celebration off to a really nice start with a cutely wrapped present, which turned out to be a terrific necklace with stones of many colors.

I have to admit that I was a little too far back to show the necklace in all of its glory, but, you know...both of these gals look pretty darn good...take a look...

And, of course, we had to have a little party...
We invited a few folks over, just to make sure that this birthday continued to provide good memories...
The party seems to have a multi-layered organization...First, we have Brian and Shelley and Holly arriving with mucho nice gifts...then we have Fredi and Coquita doing their best to imitate miniature tornadoes...then we have Rox distributing gifts to her guests--fun ones, too! And then we have the normal stories and good chatter being bandied about, and finally, we have dinner featuring big steak fries and Filet Mignon...so take a look...

Why are all of these people laughing--well, Holly set the timer, and also had it set to shoot eight pictures like a machine gun...this was all of us reacting to about the fifth set of double flashes...lots of fun...
We didn't have a bunch of candles...but Rox didn't mind...
All in all, everyone, including the two little girl doggies, had a darn good time, and we all even managed to chow down on a pretty huge ice cream birthday cake...
And...by the way...Rox loved all of the really warm and caring emails that came in, and she promises an answer to each one soon...so...thanks folks, for making this birthday even better...
