Local Easy Chairs with Local Cushions...mmm good...

As you can tell by reading past entries, we spend a bunch of time on our deck being entertained by the ocean that is constantly changing, and by all of the flying, walking, and crawling critters--not to mention the two-legged kind--which seem to be the most entertaining...

Rox has wanted to change out our original plastic chairs for something that is a little more gentle for our posteriors...

We discovered these easy chairs made of bamboo (cana or cane)...which were sturdy and sort of blended in...but we soon discovered that we needed something better on the seats than just old bed pillows--sort of lumpy, you know!

We were told that we could find a fabric store and a cushion store in La Libertad, the town just next to Salinas...the problem being that La Libertad is really had to find stuff in, 'cause the streets just sort of run in all directions...and many have no street signs...so we headed out and tried to follow our directions, but were soon lost, so we decided to just drive around for awhile hoping that we would spot a bunch of fabric in a store window...and what do you know?  We did!!!

Here is Rox posing at the entrance--must of been more that 5000 bolts of material stacked up all over two floors.

We asked around and were told that the cushion stuff was upstairs...and boy oh boy, was it ever!!!  Almost too much to decide upon...

But...we ran into a really helpful young man and his two helpers...and with their suggestions, and Rox's good taste, we were able to put together a plan for pillows...

Those rolls behind our clerk contain 100's of yards of non-stop zippers...and I always thought that they only came pre-packaged in discreet sizes...

Here he is figuring out the bill...take a look at all the yardage...

We found an excellent tailor right here in Manglaralto, and he was able to take all of the foam, and material and zippers, and put it all together into these pretty darn good looking pillows...and they feel good, too!!!

And yes, we take the pillows in at night...
