« We spend Sunday painting the Suite--first coats, anyway... | Main | Finally, a glimmer of a something not covered in cement dust! »

Rox makes curtains for the Suite, and the Guys continue on...

Rox has been busy  measuring windows to make sure that the curtains that she is making, look good,  fit right, and offer plenty of privacy for our guests...

That is--if they want it--they can also open them up to watch the waves break!

Manual is laying these shower bottom tiles to make sure that the grout lines match when he does the wall behind him.  This is a little tricky in that he also must maintain the slope toward the drain--even all the way...

Alfredo is mortaring up the doorway that used to be here.  The other side of that wall is the new bathroom and is ready to receive wall tile.

The top opening will receive a custom-made, wooden, interior opening window, that will provide natural light, ventilation, and is high enough to ensure privacy.

I just wanted you to know that I am absolutely LOVING subscribing to your blog. I'm in Charlotte, NC, but have had my eye on Ecuador, especially since reading IL's recommendation! (So far my husband hasn't "bought into" the ex-pat idea but he's trainable so I don't think that will be a problem :-)). Your posts give a bit of the feel for life (and remodeling!) on the ground, so keep up the good work!

Hi Sharon...well, you made our day! We have just walked upstairs after painting a whole bunch of the suite on a Sunday morning. Rox is the best painter, but she lets me kind of slop on paint with the roller where I can't do much damage. I had just taken an Advil when I sat down to check the blog...and your nice words were better than Ibuprofen, anytime!
Thanks for reading, and stay tuned!!!
