Sweet Progress on the "Suite on the Beach"!

The last entry gives you an idea of how we did in the six days we spent in Cuenca.  This entry will detail how the guys did, working though the huge list we left for them.  We asked them to take a few pics showing their progress...

The number one priority was getting all the tile down on the floors, and in the new bath...

As you can see, Alfredo is pretty nimble when he lays in the grout...not bad for the man who also gives a great performance as Papa Noel (who doesn't need a pillow)!

We ordered all new windows, kitchen cabinet doors, and a new screen door.  These were all custom made by Felipe...

This is the kitchen window...you can watch the waves break as you cook...

Notice that the lower sill has been dropped 10 inches from the Living room window--this is so our guests can see the waves crash while propped up in bed...

This is the new bathroom window--which gives light and air where the old door used to be...

The bathroom fixtures were installed...

Alfredo installs the ceiling fan to make sure that guest remain comfortable as the temperatures rise...

And, he puts up the first coat of paint on the kitchen ceiling--Rox did the second coat Sunday...

These photos only show the big jobs that the guys did while we were gone...there was a massive amount of electrical and plumbing done, that is hard to shoot.

In addition, the guys hooked up the bathroom plumbing to the main septic line yesterday--and it all flowed just fine!

As you look at these pics, remember that they were shot in the middle of a construction zone.  On Wednesday a full cleaning crew will eliminate all construction dust, wash all windows, and polish all new ceramic tile, plus clean all the normal fixtures...

Today, we install the stove, move in the new fridge, and hook up the separate water heater.  We also move in the TV, queen-sized pillow top bed, sitting room furniture, closet, and various other decorative items.  We also stock the kitchen with what you need...like a hot and cold dispenser for bottled water...

Under the heading of not so romantic, but very satisfying...we will surprise the garbage pickup truck, with a mountain of construction leftovers!

So stay tuned for the finished pictures in just a couple of days...
