The Kid´s Christmas Party--Miles of Smiles & a Symphony of Good Vibrations!!!

Well...how do you throw a party for almost 400, and have it come off without a hitch?  You begin planning it in August--that´s how!

Rox bought a full sized lined notebook in August, and the day before the party, it was fully loaded on every page!

I am doing this entry at an Internet Cafe, where the speed is fast, but the keyboard is dismal, so I am going to upload a ton of photos, while I wait for 289 5¨by 7¨Matte Kodak prints to be made for all the kids that you will see.  These pics will be handed out by Agripina over the weekend.  For a lot of these families, this will be the only photo of their child that they get all year...

Now!  How about a big thank you for all the help--From you wonderful readers out there, who sent generous donations, so that we could buy everything needed to make this a great day for a bunch of deserving kids.  And...to those of you who shopped at home and brought stuff down in suitcases, you may be sure that these kids have never even seen some of the school goodies that you included...

And finally, to Shell, Marsha, Sandra and Lee, for pulling KP duty while we made potato salad, and for being excellent photogs and waiters, which showed the kids having a great time while they were enjoying timely refreshments!

And, we have to mention Alan and Mary Lou, and Ron and Sandy who brought down huge overloaded suitcases of scarce school supplies--these kids and their teachers will benefit greatly!

Here goes, with Rox and Papa Noel waiting for the flood to begin...

When Papa Noel made his appearance, it seemed that the roof would just rise straight up...

Out of order, but this shot shows prep for over 100 pounds of potato salad, that was gone with the wind...

These young ladies arrived first, so get a special picture...

Rox took several of these shots of guests arriving.  Sandra and Marsha took a huge number showing everyone having a great time.

When one of the mothers put on a special dancing CD, the kids leaped from their chairs and did a cute two step dance, while singing the refrains at the top of their lungs...

You will see Sandra and Marsha in the back...they took a lot of great photos, but not of each other!

Shell waitered and Lee loaded every waiter tray...a well oiled team!

Our Friend Hector from the Casa Blanca, showing off his baby girl...

These girls are 10, going on 20!

 One is cute, but...

How about two?

As you can see, multiple generations approve of the "muscle truck" this young boy received...

And...it doesn't take much to see that if her daughter is happy, so is mom!

The suite kitchen is pretty big, when used by a couple...here we had eight people going 100 mph...and it still worked fine!

This old coot started with the fridge totally filled with seven huge containers of potato salad--and it all got delivered by ice cream scoop.  Lee was surprised when he noticed that there was not an ounce of food put in the trash!

You don't think that these girls' daddy and mommy will have fits with the boys in about eight years?

As we neared the end of the serving day, we offered beer all around--these ladies were too busy to drink!

Here's Edwardo with his new baby--taking a break from landscaping Shell and Marsha's new place.

It didn't take long for the girls to start playing "dolls"...

When everything was said and done (except the clean up...), we were sitting on the deck re-hashing how everything went, and then we were treated to this unusual looking sunset...a great ending to a perfect day!!!

This was one of those magic days when pictures only convey a minor impression of the wonderful feelings that we all shared.

Rox said that, although she was exhausted when the day was over, the good feelings were so strong, that she's already looking forward to next year!!!
