Ahoy!!! We spot a three masted sailing ship crossing in front of us!!!

You know, when you are sippng coffee and watching the waves and an occassional fishing boat, you are somewhat surprised when a huge ship goes by offering a blast from the distant past.  We got a better look through the binoculars, but here is what our poor little digital camera could dig out...



You will see the ship on the right side of the photo.


The Guayas is a sail training ship of the Ecuadorian Navy. The training cruise is designed to give midshipmen a first-hand experience of life at sea, learn about the hardship of sail training, complete their academic curriculum, and test their endurance and leadership skills. The port visits provide an opportunity to rest and learn about other cultures.



Even tho the ship was about two miles out...it was fun to see all the sails working...
