Fresh from Conducting a tour to the Galapagos and lugging over 100 Pounds of New School Supplies, Two Friends Arrive for a little R & R at our place...

Allan and his son Stephen are enjoying a beer after making sure that their teacher-explorers have boarded their plane for the US...

We were able to catch up on all the last years happenings, and also get Coquita introduced to Stephen...

The next day they walked to Montanita where they were passed by this frisky colt...

Gotta pose in the bathwater surf...

and buy a cool "Montanita Surf" tee...

and pose under the "I Love Montanita" sign...

and...of course...quench you thirst at the Casa Blanca!!!  Hector was so thrilled to see Allan again, that this Mojito arrived in a milkshake glass...cool!  Allan said "Hey, this tastes like another one!"

The next day, we slept in after talking way too late--but fun!!!  After coffee, rolls and jam, we decided to take a drive North to the fun little town of Puerto Lopez...

Naturally, we have to have the "big leaf" shot!

About half way there, we stopped at a little roadside "antique" shop.  Allan discovered a clipper ship that would be cool at his home, but clipper ships are sort of hard to pack...so that was out...

However, Rox and I both were taken by this figurine...It looked old, was very dirty, and was very out of the ordinary..It was wired to the top of the outside display...

Rox did some serious bargaining, and we finally settled on a price that took our lunch money and then some...here is Allan cutting him down from his perch.

The nice lady in the store was starting to wrap him up, when we discovered that some of the images would make a nice tee shirt!  Allan figured that this shot might begin to show up our friend Ron...

When we arrived home with our statuette, Isidro was unwrapping him, and as soon as he emerged, Isidro burst out with a big smile of approval.  He said that the statue was really old, and worth way more that we paid for it.  He called it "Munyaquita", but I probably screwed up the spelling, because when I Googled it, I found no reference to the name, and couldn't find a similar picture, either.

Isidro and Agripina both seemed very familiar with the statue, and said that it was a god of agriculture or plants, and that it would make a one meter plant grow to two meters.  They were smiling as they said this, so I guess we are not introducing any evil into the house.

If any of you smart folks out there can discover more about him, we would appreciate the information.

We crested a hill and looked down on the incredible view of Puerto Lopez, and took the required shot posing for a postcard shot...

And we all think that the message in this sign is pretty important...

We had lunch at  a Garden Hotel restaurant, facing the beach, and building our strength for even more fun...

We toured the gorgeous grounds of the Hosteria Mandala, saw a gillion flowers, and found that the water truck gave us terrific pictures...take a look...

The sides of the truck are even more impressive...

Stephen is a "big dog" man, but Coquita was determined to make him see,  that she is a "big dog", too...just wrapped in a slightly smaller package...

We all had a good time, and hope that next year, we will be seeing Mary Lou, wife and mother to these fun guys...
