Who says a twist of fate can't be a good one???

We haven't had any visitors to the house since Allan and Stephen left in June, so we had been looking forward to the visit by two couples with whom we had been emailing steadily...

Well, whatdoyaknow? it turns out that each of them plans to arrive on the Wednesday that we absolutely had to use to resupply a remodel job we are helping on...so...we tell them each to arrive after we get back home, and they are so prompt that they actually meet to let each other in to our gates.

We had hoped to have nice one on one conversations with each couple, but this twist of fate, just dropped everyone into a fast talking party all at once.  So, we had Chuck and Nancy, of Cuenca blog fame, and Patrick and Shirley, two really nice folks from SC, who were exploring the Coast, and Rox and me, all trying to get to know each other better...while Coquita just jumped around...

Everyone was a good sport about it, and we seemed to all get along just fine, especially since one couple was driving North, while the other one, in driving South, could make suggestions about stops to make.  So...after having drinks and talking for a couple of hours, we adjourned to the Casa Blanca for dinner...here we are having way too much fun...

Margaritas and Mojitos were the order of the day...

Patrick really liked his Mojitos...while Hector was his usual charming self...

Chuck and Nancy each order a couple of new menu items...

Nancy's concoction was rings of pineapple, inter-spaced with chicken nugget-like morsels, all drenched in what seemed to be a hot berry syrup--the taste I got was unique...but delicious!  Chuck has giant shrimp in a Peruvian sauce which also included wrapped whitefish...pretty exotic...

Before the food came, a Colombian street vendor tried to charm  Nancy into buying jewelry...

We spent an hour talking after the plates were cleared...so stay tuned for more...

Also, we also must thank Patrick and Shirley for bringing down 500 plastic Christmas Gift bags, which we will use for the upcoming Christmas Party for Kids...these bags will enable us to get school supplies, animals crackers and candy, and each child's gift all into one pretty package...so Thanks Mucho, Guys!!!
