Yesterday, a new message arrived on my desktop (Google is my homepage...), and I was invited to download some software that would give me free calls to the US and Canada for the rest of 2010. Well, I have an extremely slow connection, but the software downloaded quickly.
To get it up and running I had to tell the computer to let it do it a couple of times.
I didn't want to bother anyone with a practice call, so I called Bank of America and listened to their endless number of options when I pressed different numbers on the keypad.
I have to say that the tone quality and rapid response was far superior to Skype.
Now, this software says that I can call anyone I want to, land-line or cellular. When I was searching for this offer on the web, I did not see it. I wonder if Google is just sending out a Beta program to some of us who use them as a homepage?
If anyone out there can tell me what Google is actually doing, I would appreciate it...Thanks mucho...
