Coquita turns Two Today!!!

We have always had pretty large dogs in our family, so when we got Coquita at the Indigenous Market in Cuenca, we were taking two kinds of chances...One, that we would get a healthy dog, and Two, that we would adapt to a little dog, etc.

Well, Coquita may be a small package, but she certainly has a large presence!  Number One, she expects to get her own way all the time, and Number Two, she expects everybody to like her!!!  She usually finds the person in a group most uncomfortable with doggies, and then she just demands to sit in that lap...you just have to look back to previous entries to see that she is pretty good at finding receptive laps...and this does not mean to say, that those folks pictured, didn't just adore her!

On her birthday, we awoke to a cloudless sky and a brilliant orange sunrise, which made the white wave crests look like boiling lava, and...there was no wind, and it was a lot warmer...

So...for this occasion, Rox made Coquita a little happy birthday hat, and I made a little "cake"...take a look...

She is surrounded by friends, Precious, Tigger, Elvis, and Bossie...(thanks to Patty and Nancy)...

She makes our life here more fun everyday...so Happy Birthday Coquita!!!

Is that a cake or a pumpernickel. If I can buy pumpernickel in Ec. then I'm booking a flight right now!
