Lazy Daze at the Beach--is contagious!

We want to thank you all for your emails wondering if we were stuck in the mud as far as writing the blog goes...the answer is everything is fine!

The weather here at the Coast is absolutely perfect for being a lounge lizard, plus it's hard to get started writing when you have to follow a "Panther" story.

It is high season here, and we have tourists from all over the world and Ecuador...Spring Break for some schools, too!  It is warm enough that most folks wear as little as possible, and then some!

We have had a parade of "thong joggers", and I have to say that when you jog in a thong, you better keep up your club memberships, 'cause there ain't no way to hide an ounce of flab that might wish to bounce!  Rox reminds me that these "swimsuits" are not bought by the yard...

We made a quick trip to Cuenca, where we were spoiled by the nice hospitality of Rich and Nancy...

On the trip, we took a few llama shots...

Lots of beautiful sunsets coming, but take a look at this "moon-set"!

Here is a shot of Coquita watching her Pop leaving--little footprints on the pillows and shams of the rear guest bedroom...

We have a great sunset almost every night...here are a few...

We have several families of iguanas living in our tall coconut palm trees.  This little guy had jumped off one frond, found our deck, and was looking in at us...

We escorted him to the stairs, where he jumped up on the banister, and sort of crawled-slid down to the grass...

We call this guy our "crab eating bird".  We could Google the real name, but for three years that name has stuck.  He (or she more likely) has been staying really close to us for the last couple of weeks.  We think that it is for some domestic reason like a cache of eggs somewhere in the lot next door.  This bird is perfectly equipped to eat crabs, as she is faster flying than they can run, and the long beak just digs them right out of their holes...
