The New Suite is humming along--take a look...

Here is a good chance to see how Ecuador has a "can do" attitude...

Our guys have very little in the way of labor saving machinery and tools...they are thrilled to be working themselves, to heck with the "tools"!

So...in the next series of pictures you will see a pretty good job of "over-engineering" pretty much all done by hand and strong back, but with an end result as good or way better than a lot of jobs.

To begin with, the re-bar in this apartment floor has be fabricated by hand right here on the job...

The extra bamboo is needed 'cause Rox and I wanted to add a couple more feet to the new deck...

Next the guys  throw several hundred light weight mortar blocks up from the delivery truck...

Now these blocks are laid between the re-bar, with the electrical conduit protected within...

Next we find these innovative workers have decided that carrying up all the concrete needed by bucket up a ladder is not in their future...this time...here we see them beginning the support work for what I called the "via a las estrellas"--highway to the stars...

Shell and Marsha generously loaned us the use of their professional concrete mixer--a huge labor saving!  Here it is waiting to go...

Ours was a relatively small pour, but the custom is that the management feeds the troops, on the theory  that we are making this pour totally "wet", and there is no time to stop.

Here is a shot of Agripina and her daughters making a delicious meal out of three chickens and a huge amount of rice and veggies that Rox and I threw in the pot, so to speak...

Here's how it's going up top...

Of course, these guys appreciated the "sidewalk superintendents"

Here's the result of all that effort...

And a little fun afterward...

We thank these hardworking guys for a job done just right...Alfred, who is our Papa Noel for the Kid's Party, and his cousin, Manual supervised this pour perfectly...

Wow, that is impressive! What a great looking work crew and the second floor looks outstanding , can’t wait until it’s done and Michele and I get to spend a couple weeks soaking up the view from your new suite, which Michele is suggesting you call Pelican Suite for the web site. We are planning on getting your new web site completed to coincide with your finishing Pelican Suite! Good work guys!
