We discover an Oasis as we travel through Santo Domingo de los Colorados...The Presidential Suite!

When we travel, we are always on the lookout for a place that will welcome Coquita...so Rox discovered the Grand Hotel in Santo Domingo--halfway to Otavalo--and this hotel said Coquita was just fine.  So...we arrive there yesterday afternoon, pretty tired from taking the wrong way to get here.

Unfortunately, the price, which we had thought would be $60 per person, was actually $60 each, and the room was just a little bit above crappy...

We were really disappointed, but knew that we had to stay...we were too tired to drive all over this huge town looking for a pet friendly hotel.  So I asked Rox if they had a little better room for a little more money.

Well the old amount for the crappy room would have been $107, but Rox worked her magic, looked at several nice rooms, and finally settled on the Presidential Suite.  It was $150 plus 22% tax...but here, her winning ways got the price reduced to $121 total, if we would promise to stay in the same room, when we roll back on through here on Thursday or Friday.

We said..."sure, that sounds great!"

That little oval thing on the wall straight ahead is a twenty button remote for activating this "time machine" of a shower.  We are going to try it out this morning and report back...if we get back...

There is a conference room before you get to the main part of the Suite, plus this nifty deck where we ordered dinner--it arrived piping hot...and we had no problems asking whether Coquita was welcome in the dining room...

Here's a shot of the ladies of the party approving of the feel of the bed...

So, here it is Sunday morning, and we will be ordering breakfast sent up, to get us ready for the trip up north past Quito, Otavalo, to arrive at Ibarra...we will let you know what we are doing there if things go OK...stay tuned...

Love your little white fluffy Coquita! Is she a Bichon Frise, Maltese, or????. Coquita is so white, clean, and fluffy, either one of you grooms her or you have a great groomer.
We will hopefully be moving in June '12 and finding a good groomer will be one of our first projects. We have two white fluffies - Bree 8 and Tess 3. I'm glad to learn that furbabies are accepted so that our adventures will not be curtailed to a great extent, or at least that IS my hope.I have so many questions and gratefully finding the answers to many of them on various Blogs. Thanks for taking the time to enlighten us.
