Isidro's 11-11-11 Birthday Party...

Well, if you're a crap shooter, you know that just about everybody wins when 'ol number eleven comes up, so today was a special one that won't be around for another 100 years...

As you regular readers know, Isidro and Agripina are the couple who live on our property, and provide us with lots of help when it's needed.  We are also lucky enough to have sort of adopted a lot of their extended family, and they help out, too! (is that a sentence?)

Isidro turned 63 today, and we had a little get together for gifts and good times.

This is the sunset that greeted us as we began our little celebration...

Rox had picked several items of clothing including new socks and this macho tee shirt, which Isidro immediately modeled for us...

The Ball Cap,  that Isidro wears,  was a present we got for him from the US showing an Alaska Trucking Company and one of their Peterbilts...he wears that cap for "good"...

Here are a couple of shots of the rest of the party...

Gift wrap is a really scarce commodity here in Ecuador, so we thank Angi and Mike for generously providing this pretty packaging and a bunch more when we visited.

In fact, as we presented Isidro with his gifts, it seemed that he spent as much time "saving the paper and ribbon" as he did admiring his gifts.  Each ribbon was carefully straightened, and all paper was folded with the scotch tape removed.

The package,  that they are all posing with,  was a personal boom box which takes all kinds of music media, including a USB thumb drive.  When Isidro plugged in the machine, he was greeted by Elvis singing "Jailhouse Rock"...they immediately started moving to the music...

I had included about 80 good ol' rock and roll songs on the thumb drive, so they assured us that they would keep listening as they moved the party over to their house to join the family for good food and birthday cake.  (we had already received our horse-sized pieces).

And...we can't thank Michael (& Patty) enough for giving us all of those wonderful songs that we listened to in the 50's, 60's, and 70's...thanks mucho, guys...

So, as the party wound down, we all agreed that this "triple eleven" day was a lucky day for us all...
