On the Way to Otavalo--we discover a magic place!

About two minutes before we were to roll into Otavalo to begin looking for a room, we saw a sign in Espejo promoting cottages by a beautiful lake...so we turned in.

Rox took a look, then I took a tour, and we were sold...unfortunately, they said "no dogs" (in the suites)...so we said that we would gladly take a "room" if they would let us bring in Coquita...

The little cabins are right by the lake, have two double beds, and huge fireplace, large cable TV, lots of extra blankets and pillows, a bath with tons of hot water, lots of extra towels, a toilet that works perfectly, and lots of tile.

There is a large front porch that looks out over the lake and onto two volcanoes...

Here a bunch of pics to give you an idea...

OH, and did I mention...there is no traffic noise, no buses, no roosters, no dogs, no neighbors, and no boom-boxes, and no weddings...it is quiet just like it's supposed to be...

 PuertoLago means LakePort (where Mary from South of Zero hails from--so hello Mary!).

Here are more shots...

Our room was number one, which is the lower left half, where our deck is only about 50 feet from the lake.

 The place has resident llamas, and a kitty or two...and the staff is just terrific....they even come in at night and start you fire...and the wood is free!

In addition, They offer a 15% discount for us old coots.

We also discovered a place with better stuff than Otavalo in Peguche!  Here is Rox posing inside...more in the next segment...

Hi Guys;
Glad you made it to Peguche; hope you have time to hit the leather stores in Cotacachi.

Hi John and Jeanne...good to hear from you again!!

We really did think Peguche was special. Cotacachi will have to wait 'till our next trip.
Hope you are doing well, and that Spring is coming to New England.
