When a Thousand Words is not quite enough...

Rox snapped this shot just before dinner last night...

They say that a picture is worth a 1000 words, and this shot above certainly proves that...but...as pretty as it is, this shot only provides you with a split second of yesterday, using only one of our senses--sight...

What about our other senses?

Smell--The ocean is alive and its aroma changes by the minute--the onshore breeze brings 10,000 miles of fresh, unused air, that is oxygenated by wave action just before it gets to your nose...

Hearing--Being right on the beach, we hear a symphony of large, small, and steady changes of waves breaking, all day and all night...Many of our guests mention the soothing effect of falling asleep while the waves massage their eardrums...

Taste--The humidity can be felt just by sticking our one's tongue...

Touch--The water and salt in the air, coupled with the heat of the day, have been responsible for people's skin being re-moisturized, and most importantly, been responsible for them forgetting to take their medicine for their arthritis pain--because it wasn't there anymore!!!  Also, people have mentioned that they no longer take their Clari tin--their allergies are not bothering them!!!  And, skin ailments fade away, too!!!

And, how about the indescribable feeling of warm sand sifting through your toes???  A long jog on the beach partially in and partially out of the rolling surf???  or...lying on the hot sand,  with the sun warming you through and through???

And, how about the sixth sense--the sense of contentment that one feels as the majesty of the ocean washes over them, making their pains and problems fade into insignificence???

And, how about the sense of urgency--when one says it is time to giddy-up, get off my ass, and get on down!!!

Hi Mary...true, true...well, if Mama Natura lets us borrow it, I guess we ought to flaunt it!!!
We only get to enjoy the wonders of Mother Nature for a short while, so we see our job as criers in the wilderness looking for more hedonists!!!
Remember the ol' saw about a journey of 1000 miles starting with the first step?
Enough of these fractured phrases and idealized idioms...
thanks for writing...

Oh you two are truly evil! :-) We've had so much rain here! You pictures and descriptions make me want to pack up and head out your way!
