Rox finally gets her Birthday Dinner...

To say that we've been busy lately, is to put it mildly...The present, past, and future guests in our Suite have kept us hopping.  In fact, by the time we were done each night, it was way past the time that we would have enjoyed a nice steak dinner on the new Bar B Que...

Last night we finally came up for air, settled down, and inaugurated the new Bar-Bee correctly, with Fillet Mignon's, huge baked potatoes, sour cream, and sauteed mushrooms (the whole box).  Rox likes her steak cooked pretty much on the rare, but not raw, side, and I like mine cooked medium plus.  So I took a monster cut of the Chateaubriand and pushed it in from the ends to form a big round steak about 2 inches thick, while I hacked off the tail for me.

Here I am at sunset, making sure that the steaks stay nice in juicy, as they cook just perfectly on the new grill.  What a change from pan-fried!!!

Here's a shot of the steaks...Rox's is partially obscured, but the whole thing yielded about 25 really juicy bites...I got to say...if you want a steak done right, you have to do it yourself, with the best lomo fino you can buy...

And...I want to thank Rox for buying the new bar b que, while I hemmed and hawed...pretty slick, too...she got the one already assembled, and that saved about 5 hours of drudgery...

It was a real pleasure to sit down to this happy birthday dinner...
