We Discover a hidden gem, while searching for a special birthday dinner...

Scott wanted to provide Lindsay a really nice birthday dinner, but was hoping to find something a little different and more elegant than the normal restaurant fare in Montanita.  Luckily, Shell and Marsha have discovered a unique hostel-restaurant one mile east of Olon up in the foothills.

We drove up Saturday afternoon, to make sure that they would be open and to make a specific table reservation.  We found caterers scurrying around getting ready for one of the most mouth watering weddings we have ever seen...

Here they are posing with the ocean view to their back...

And here is how they decorated the place, and what they will be serving the lucky guests...

It appeared from the number of food warmers that the guests would choose from any type of food that they fancied...

This tree branch was decorated with little icicles of crystal, and showed a full on dance band setup waiting for the happy guests...

The wedding cake and hors-d'œuvres were just right, but just wait to see what is waiting in the adjoining room!

And...how about this table?  Just enough all by itself!

This is a shot of the outdoor portion of the restaurant...

We left Scott and Lindsay here to enjoy her special birthday dinner.

We were invited to a nice Saturday night dinner at Shell and Marsha's place in La Entrada.  Here they are posing with Jenny, a Peace Corps worker, who lives just down the street from them.  They have become good buddies already, and it was a pleasure to meet her.  She is working with the President of the local Cumuna to map out improvements to the infrastructure in La Entrada...

We also met Kim and Bruce, who are the proprietors of the Dolfin Hostel in San Jose.  We all had a good time "talking shop"...

With Shell and Marsha as hosts, it was good food and talk all around, plus we were impressed, as usual,  with the incredible progress made on their new home.
