The Kid's Christmas Party comes off PERFECTLY!!!

We have been planning for four months (mostly Rox), and working for countless hours prior, just to make the Kid's Christmas Party work seamlessly.  This year it went off without a hitch.  Just enough food, just enough help, the right amount of presents, the perfect atmosphere, with even the ocean providing a gentle cool breeze to refresh over 535 kids, moms, pops, waiters, food preparers, Santa's Helpers, and volunteers!!!

The party was scheduled to begin at 2:00 on Thursday afternoon, with the majority of the people arriving by 3:00, when we rolled up the garage doors to show Papa Noel sitting in his workshop next to the Christmas tree.  There was a collective Ahhhhhhh! and then wild clapping!

But first...here are a few shots of the day's preparations...

Here's Rox finally getting the last of the presents put into gift bags (these bags filled an entire suitcase brought down by Tim and Janet--thanks guys!).

This shot only shows the top layer and not all those on the floor!

Agripina and Cecilia help load up our 525 specially ordered hot dog buns...

The kitchen help is having too much fun!!!

Papa Noel (Agripina's son Alfredo--the contractor who built our new garage and suite), and Manual, our "crowd director", and a wonderful contractor, all work together to get the "workshop" and grounds ready...we also have 11 other construction guys who do everything!

Some of the guys waiting for the guests to arrive...

Robert and Jilleen helped a lot, with Robert taking the lion's share of photos of the happy kids and moms out in the crowd, and Jilleen helping Rox funnel the correct age gift out to Papa Noel...

But first, they took shots of the waiting crowd, while Jilleen coaxed the kids to dance to bouncy Christmas carols...

Marsha and son Shawn helped wherever needed--first off with Marsha helping liven up the dancing...then providing crucial help with the gift bag processing to Rox.

As it got closer to show time, the workers turned into Santa's elves...

Here is a sample of some of the great shots taken by Robert...Pedro here has worked on just about all of our construction projects, and on two Christmas parties...

A unique experience for these kids to see dad as Papa Noel's Helper...

You never outgrow your attraction to Papa Noel!!!

OK!!!  Enough fooling around--here are just a few shots of the 365 gifts that Santa gave out in 3 hours!

Manual takes time off to pose with happy son...

Cecelia, poses with her son Alex...and Agripina's grandson...(Papa Noel is Agripina's son--Cecelia and Papa Noel are brother and sister)...

Each young man patiently waiting...somewhat...

If you look back to previous years, you will see this "older sister" receiving a gift from Papa Noel...now at 11, she is in the "adult" category...

Hector was our carefree waiter when we first discovered the Casa Blanca Restaurant in 2007.  He is now the hard working father of two, working at his own food stand, catering to tourists with his wife Yuri...

Each year, we see more fathers bringing their kids...goooood!

Serving over 500 people hot dogs, chips and Coca Cola takes some doing...

Rox and Jilleen have just correctly handed out over 350 gifts to Papa Noel...whew!

Both these guys are construction foremen...and did not spill a drop of over 100 liters of Coca Cola...

Here's a shot of most of the crowd...kind of hard to get everyone in...

Shawn gave Coquita a lot of much needed attention, as she was pretty jealous of mom and pop cavorting with all of those "other" kids...we also thank him for shoring up the crew where he saw a need.

And that's ace photog Robert, who took almost all the exterior shots...thanks mucho !

And, of course, we thank Alfredo, who has been our Papa Noel for over 5 years now.  He brings a new definition to the word "class", as he performs his annual duties, of making it a great day for a lot of kids who might not get a lot on the 25th...

Rox and Jilleen each said..."where's our Barbie???"

It was another great party...and we will be able to help all of these kids and moms and dads relive it, by handing out over 500 photos today.

These are often the only photo of each child that a family gets in a whole year!

And...finally...thanks to all of you wonderful readers of this blog, and our friends, and our relatives, who have sent in dough to make all of this possible!!!  Without you and your support, there is not a chance that this fun day could happen!!!

So...thanks mucho!!!  You done gooood!!!
