The Parties just keep comin'!

These are a spread of the 500 5 x 7 matte photos that we give out each year after the Kid's Party. For many of the families coming to our party, the photo of their child with Santa is the only one they have for a whole year of growing.  We have found by the many questions to Agripina about "when are the pictures coming?", that the party is great, but the photos are treasured!

We have a little private party for Agripina and Isidro, who provide so much help to us over the year...

Isidro likes those macho tee shirts, as much as Agripina loves a new nightgown each year...

Agripina has been washing the family clothes for over 50 years with just a couple of wash tubs and a wash board...so...this year we we changed it a little by presenting her with a new LG washer that's about twice as good as our own...The waterworks started when she actually realized the machine was for her...

On Christmas Day, the kids bring their own nativity show right to our place for the first show of the day!

The rest of the chorus, of course, are "shepherds in the field"

We usually have some candy left over from the Christmas Party, so we "baggie" it up for all the kids who sing and the ones who come along...

Here we are with previous guests and new neighbors...all feelin' good...

Sonia, Agripina's daughter, and one of Santa's elves, also looks pretty tonight...

Thanks to Robert for taking a bunch of these shots...

That evening we sat around the table for turkey, home made dressing, mashed potatoes, candied sweet potatoes, tons of home made giblet gravy, accompanied by fruit dishes, and olives, etc, and capped off by my favorite ice cream "Tres Leches" on a strawberry tart.  It's a good thing calories don't count at Christmas...

Since I have another birthday rolling around, Rox and I were going to cook a monster Chateaubriand, but as luck would have it, all the major markets were sold out when we went to town, so we had planned to waltz into Casa Blanca for a fun people watching meal.  We were a little concerned about the mob scene in Montanita, what with this being Saturday night, almost full moon, and the New Year's weekend.  The parking is going to be nonexistent tonight.

Our night has been saved by the arrival of home cooked lasagna and a specially ordered cake.

Here are many of Agripina and Isidro's family holding the food and singing Happy Birthday to me in Espanol, and then in Ingles...

A shot of the cake complete with a little dog that looks like Coquita!

As I was holding the cake, some of the really good liquid ran off the side...and Coquita lapped it up...here she is saying let's have more!

After being called "Roberto" for over five years, it seems natural to see "Feliz Compleanos, Roberto" written on the cake...and even more natural to see Coquita on it!

Here's a Christmas sunset...

Coquita was all in after all the partying...

Was this a good year?  You Bet!!!!
