The New Deck is on the Home Stretch!

The new deck is getting the final touches, and Boy!, does it look big!  When you can walk up to the edge and put you drink on the railing, the deck suddenly feels much bigger...here, the guys have just finished a grueling nine hour day, and face another half hour of clean-up--since this is unusal, we passed out the beers...

Each railing is so heavy that it takes four strong men to hump it up to its new home...

We are having the bottom of the deck plastered to make it a prettier part of the new patio that will be built.  When completed our guests will have drinks in their hands, sand running through their toes, and a "knock your socks off" sunset to watch...

Four of the guys worked together to make sure that the new railing was secured correctly with lag bolts.

That short piece of railing took just as long to install, as a 15 footer, in that it had all the angles to match up...

Evelio is coating the wood with an oil based, chocolate colored glossy paint, to better withstand the 24 hour a day onshore flow of salt air.

These shots will show how much more room we will have for entertaining...

Thing is, I've just migrated to Wordpress. However, I have a number of people who have subscribed to my feeds from my blogger blog. What should I do to ensure that they now receive updates from my Wordpress blog? . . FYI, I have a feedburner account..

I just arrived in Chiang Mai. I wanted to post on my blog, at Blogspot, but all of the headings are now in Thai, not English. Is the problem with my computer, or the hotel's wi-fi service, or what? How can I get things back to English again?.

Amazing deck, I'm sure the margaritas will taste so much better now at sunset. Seriously envious here in rainy Vancouver

Cheers! Peter and Shelagh...
