A sinfully good dinner with almost no work!

Roxanne and I have been cooking meals for ourselves and others for over 46 years.  We even had a well-regarded restaurant for about 20 of those years...so...we are fully aware, that a lot of really good meals require a lot of preparation.

This entry is about a dinner  that we make often, these days...

It is so simple,  and certainly not original,  that you can make it, if you can boil water, handle a knife without cutting your thumb, and can turn on the oven.

It is only a two item menu, unless you wish to add some sliced up fruit as a side dish...

After that build-up, it's embarrassing to list the ingredients...

1.  Center-cut pork chops (pre cooked)

2.  Sweet Potatoes

3.  Syrup

4.  Butter or Margarine

In Ecuador, we have SuperMaxi, which is a lot like Safeway, so we can buy a lot of our meats cut up on little Styrofoam trays, just like in North America.

However, we buy the pork chops that are shrink-wrapped in their own tough plastic wrap, 'cause they taste way good!

Our Sweet Potatoes look a little like those found up North, but they have a purple center--taste the same as those with yellow centers...

OK, here's what you do...

1.  Slice the ends off of washed sweet potatoes, put them in hot water and boil them for about 20 minutes.  Take them out of water and drain.

2.  Slice sweet potatoes in half length-wise, and put in flat baking pan.  Ours has 2" sides...

3.  Open pork chops (these are pre cooked), arrange them around the outside edges of the pan, and put the whole thing in the oven for about 20 minutes.  About 350 degrees.

4.  Heat syrup in pan, or just cover the bottle in the sink with hot water.

5.  Arrange pork chops and sweet potatoes on plate (I put butter on my sweet potatoes--Rox doesn't)

6.  Pour syrup over everything!

Sit down to a fun dinner, which tastes a lot better than the work it took to put it there!!!

Looks that you do your best just to make this food special.Hope that I can cook also the same menu to taste how it is delicious and have a new list of menu.
