« A sinfully good dinner with almost no work! | Main | We get a new deck--The Suite gets a brand new beach-side Patio... »

A Sexy new patio arises from a half-filled sandbox...

As you all saw in the last entry, we decided to give our Suite guests a new patio, so they would be closer to the waves (if that's possible), and have a nice place to relax or even grab a tan...

Here are some shots leading up to the finished product...the guys had to lug all the sand from the beach for the fill...Roxanne shot this pic of one of hundreds of shovelfuls of sand making up the base...

It took a bunch of hours to fill that sandbox...

Everybody gets into the act, when the first pavers go in...see below...

The guys spread around a lot of dry sand to fill all the cracks between the pavers...that way you have more stability, as the other bricks can't be moved...Below, you see them framing the pavers with concrete to keep the little buggers in place...

Naturally, we invited the guys to be the first guests to try out "their" deck...

We all sat around with drinks, told war stories, and generally lightened up...

After the guys had departed, Rox took these fancy shots as the sun was setting...

Coquita is modeling the latest fad from China...

OK...Cool your jets...that's not really Coquita...

I had left a little space so that readers would sweat a little before reading the above disclaimer, but I got too many queries concerning Coquita's green color...just a little joke...

What is true, is that the rage in China it to dye your dog to look like a Panda, tiger, camel, or something psychodelic...quien sabe?

Having a beach house to relax at during the summer is a dream of many people, but once you realize that you have another house that needs decorating, you might be feeling a bit more apprehensive. The easiest way to decorate a beach home is to draw inspiration from the beach itself and take a more casual, comfortable approach to match the surroundings.

Figuring out how to decorate a beach house is not hard. You can incorporate the traditional decor elements into any of your favorite styles. Whether you want the feel of a classic vacation home, a romantic getaway or a whimsical setting; you can surround yourself with all of the beauty of the sea.
