With less than a week to go for the Kid's Christmas Party, we are swinging into full "Party Prep" mode!
Today, we have cleared and cleaned up the grounds which will seat over 500 happy moms and kids, cleaned up the garage, and racked our brains about how to set up platforms to hold the food prep for the crowd, and enough table space to hold almost 400 gift bags for the kids.
We're also scouring the grounds for plastic containers big enough to hold dozens of liters of Pepsi on ice.
Roxanne and Agripina have both been making sure that all the costumes are clean, Santa Hats are cleaned and pressed, and all the wall hangings to close in Santa's workshop are clean and ready to go.
Agripina begins to hand out over 350 tickets to families with children under the age of 11. (She is extremely popular, as you can imagine...)
Roxanne and I spent the weekend filling over 500 baggies with animal crackers and Christmas candy...take a look...
Part of the fun job is to make sure that broken animal crackers don't go to waste!
Roxanne is making bows to hang all over the festive party area...
At this very minute, Roxanne is filling up the gift bags. Here she is posing with only the baby bags completed and a bunch of the girls bags, age one to three. Lots still to go!!!
Here is a shot of a few of the boys trucks--macho!
All of you wonderful folks out there have kept us pretty even on our past expenditures, but we still need a little help.
On Wednesday, I go off to La Libertad to buy 525 wieners, 525 buns, and 525 bags of potato chips.
On Thursday, seating for 525 will be delivered, and must be paid for, before the truck unloads.
On Party Day, we also pay our waiters for their normal daily wage, as we take them off of construction jobs all around the area. Agripina makes a huge lunch for the whole staff, so they can keep up their energy as they serve 525 happy kids and moms.
And...two days after the party, I go to La Libertad to order over 500 5" by 7" matte finish photos of each child with Papa Noel, and about 100 other photos of the kids enjoying the party.
So...If you wish to take part in a really happy occasion for deserving kids, just send along some dough to our PayPal account, which is
